Outcomers Louth are celebrating Pride 2021 and to mark the occasion have produced a special video called “Now You See Us” which takes a look at the journey from the early years when Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) people were not as accepted as they are today.
The video reflects on the experiences of so many people from the LGBT community who had to leave their homes and their country to escape the shame that in those days was associated with being gay.
It also charts the changes Ireland has gone through to become the welcoming and safe place it is today.
“So, this weekend let’s think of all of the LGBT people who have left this country, people who have family in Louth and whose home is still here even if they are not” said a spokesperson.
“As we look to 2022 filled with hope that this will be our last virtual Pride and we look forward to meeting you all in Outcomers in 2022.
“Happy Pride Everyone, from all the team at Outcomers!”
