Two Drogheda men, lifelong friends who have known each other since their early childhood have combined their talents, one an artist and the other a poet, to produce a unique local calendar for 2022.
According to Hugo Duncan ‘Old pals are always the best’ and these words certainly apply to Drogheda natives Ged McMahon and Anthony Matthews.
Both spent their formative years living at Duleek Street and were in the same class at St Mary’s BNS Congress Avenue.
Now, having rekindled their friendship, the two have combined their talents to produce the captivating calendar, ‘2022 A Taste of Home’.
On a recent visit to Millmount Museum, just a stone’s throw from their original homes at Dooley Gate, the two were kindly invited to host an Exhibition of their work. Anthony and Ged expressed their gratitude to Alan Garry and the wonderfully welcoming staff at the centre.
There is great anticipation surrounding the opening night on Saturday 2nd October with the Exhibition set to commence at 6.00 pm and continue until 9pm.
Together with plans to portray their collaboration of Art and Poetry, there will be music, craic and perhaps a sip of wine to open the Exhibition.
Everyone is welcome and both Anthony, Ged and their families look forward to meeting you all on the Opening Night.
