Irvine Welsh to visit Drogheda for special talk and DJ set this May

Drogheda collective External Sounds, in partnership with Sound Town, will host two events with renowned Scottish writer Irvine Welsh at Droichead Arts Centre and The Living Room on Bank Holiday Sunday, May 3.

Marking 30 years since the film adaptation of his novel Trainspotting, Irvine Welsh will take part in an in depth conversation with Irish Times journalist Tony Clayton Lea at Droichead Arts Centre. The discussion will reflect on the novel, his wider body of work and his life and career.

Following this, the event will move to The Living Room at Sarsfields Bar, where Irvine Welsh will perform a DJ set featuring music that reflects his influences and creative work. Support on the night will come from Drogheda DJ Dom Wilton.

Tickets are available from www.droichead.com, priced at €25 plus booking fee, which includes access to both events. A limited number of DJ set only tickets are also available for €15 plus booking fee.
