Form of Declaration of Result of Local Government Business Improvement District Ratepayer Plebiscite 2023

A plebiscite of the ratepayers was held to determine the level of support among ratepayers of rateable property in Dundalk for the proposal (received from the Business Improvement District Scheme Dundalk CLG) to extend the Business Improvement District Scheme, for a period of five years to 31st December 2028.

The result of the said plebiscite is as follows:
Number of votes in favour of the proposal for a continuation of the Dundalk BID Scheme – 569

Number of votes against the proposal for a continuation of the Dundalk BID Scheme – 37

The proposed Business Improvement District Scheme will be considered by the members of Louth County Council at the September Council meeting. If the scheme is approved by the members of Louth County Council, the extension of the Scheme will come into force on 1st January, 2024.
