Easter Bunny and Tayto Park trip cause great excitement in Moneymore

When the Easter Bunny arrived in a rickshaw last week it was the cause of great excitement among the local children in the Moneymore area and Moneymore creche as they were whisked off in pairs for a spin around the square.

Proving that you can never keep children away from chocolate, the elaborate online treasure hunt which indicated where the Easter Bunny would be with lots of Easter eggs throughout the afternoon was quickly sussed.

This was just the start of a very busy Easter period for Coordinator Cliodhna Cunningham and the rest of the very dedicated staff at the Connect Family Resource Centre.

“We had 16 volunteers support us with the Tesco Trolley appeal on 8th April so we could support families who access our Foodcloud service with non-perishable food hampers over the Easter” Cliodhna told us.

“The Easter Bunny was kindly accompanied by Oliver from Drogheda and District Support 4 Older People on their rickshaw and some of the children got a spin around square in Moneymore in the rickshaw after the Easter Bunny had hopped off on his other deliveries!

“Connect FRC would like to thank Tesco Ireland for their Easter egg donation towards this event and supporting us with the Food appeal.”

As if all this activity was not enough Connect FRC, gluttons for punishment that they are, also brought over 400 people for a family day out in Tayto Park.

“There was great excitement to try the new Dino Dash!” Cliodhna said.  The buses left early and brought home tired but very happy children. The sun was out all day and great fun was had by all!”

Dave Turner of Drogheda and District Support 4 Older People said they were delighted to be part of Easter Bunny adventure in Moneymore this week.

“Well done Connect FRC for a great community event, we are delighted for our service for older people to be helping with bringing joy to the younger people.

“Thank you to Ciara and all at Connect FRC for including us.”
