Droichead Arts Centre has announced that Inside Out, a documentary film about the experience of young and old during the Coronavirus crisis, will premiere on Friday, 12 March at 8pm on their YouTube channel.
Produced in association with Droichead Arts Centre, directed by Darren Thornton and funded by Creative Ireland under the Creativity in Older Age Scheme, Inside Out brings teenagers and older people into a lively conversation about their connecting and conflicting experiences of life during lockdown.
The screening will be followed by a Q & A on Zoom hosted by LMFM’s Sinead Brassil, details on droichead.com.
Droichead Arts Centre Director Collette Farrell, said: “At a time when we are still in lockdown this film brings two different generations together to share their experiences of life during lockdown.
“Inside Out is poignant and funny, and shows the resilience of both our both our younger and older generations. Thank you to all for participating, and especially to Darren for making such a beautiful film.”

The film’s director, Darren Thornton, said the idea for the short film was borne out of his frustration with hearing politicians and journalists constantly speaking on behalf of these two generations.
“We were never getting to hear directly from young people or older people… Really the idea was as simple as just creating a space where both generations could talk openly and we the audience could just eavesdrop on the conversation…”
