Sat 30 Oct | 12pm & 2.30pm |€8 | Age: 9+

A beguiling new production for audiences (9+ years) directed by Philip Hardy,  presented by Barnstorm Theatre Company.

Alice spends virtually all her time in Wolf Wood. You know, the world’s deepest, darkest online game. Why not? Her dad isn’t around, her mother’s gone to Canada to meet a lumberjack and her best friend’s dumped her for a YouTube star.

But what happens when the people you meet online come looking for you in real life? Who can you trust, and who is the Big Bad Wolf? This re-telling of the Little Red Riding Hood story is a digital fairy tale that’s deliciously funny and full of dangerously dark twists.

LOST HEARTS

Droichead are delighted to partner with Bewley’s Cafe Theatre and The Lock Inn to present a streamed online event by The Curious Ensemble.

Adapted for the stage by Michael James Ford and Stewart Roche, and starring Michael James Ford, Bairbre Ni Chaoimh and Kyle Hixon.   Filmed in the magnificent setting of Roundwood House, Mountrath, Co. Laois.

London, 1903. Stephen Elliot is rapidly descending into madness and opium addiction. In an attempt to arrest his decline, psychiatrist DoctorOlsen utilises hypnosis to delve deep into the young man’s suppressed memories. What is revealed is a terrifying episode from Stephen’s childhood, when, as a traumatised orphan, he was sent to live with his reclusive Uncle at the remote Aswarby Hall.

‘with the wonderful setting (filmed in the gorgeous Roundwood House), interesting performances and brilliant sound design… From sun-kissed green fields to dark, dank and ominous cellars lit only by candle-light, the piece looks terrific throughout… the minimalist cast all pull double duty and rise to the challenge well’ London Horror Society.

Music adapted, arranged and performed by Philip Dodd (violin) and Donal Wallace (cello)

Film maker: Naoise Kettle

Sound Engineer: Nick Anton

Camera Operator and Lighting: Reuben Harvey.
