Droichead Arts Centre is planning a spooktacular Halloween for all ages between 22-31 October . A number of events are taking place in Droichead’s Theatre in Stockwell Street and Barlow House including Candle Lit Tales, in association with Púca Festival, Tailtiu’s Tall Tales, Lost Hearts and Alice and The Wolf. Funded by the Arts Council, Louth County Council, Meath County Council, and sponsored by Flogas Ireland.
Droichead’s Spooks Parade returns, led by Kieran Gallagher of Kada Ka Boom Arts on Saturday, 30th October! As part of Leanbh Children’s Festival activity, 30 children from St. Brigid’s & St. Patrick’s National School, Drogheda, will march a short spooktastic route through the town at 3pm.
Back in the Groove – Friday 22 October Online
Working with over 150 children from primary schools in Drogheda and East Meath, KadaKaBoom Art’s Kieran Gallagher has facilitated an online and live programme of workshops over the last number of weeks.
Teachers have rehearsed with their students, and the final performances have been filmed in schools, and one GIANT GROOVE will be launched online on Fri 22 Oct on Droichead’s Youtube channel and across all our social Media channels.

TAILTIU’S TALL TALES

Tailtiu Theatre invite you to be intrigued, mystified, and spooked, as we open the doors of Barlow House for a weekend of the arcane, the supernatural, and the downright ghoulish.
This collection of original spooky short stories will be brought to life as several audio installations throughout the house, come and listen to tales of demons, of ghosts, and of all things bizarre.
This is an interactive theatre event, where the experience involves spending some of the performance away from your original party! Ooooooh spooky!

But what happens when the people you meet online come looking for you in real life? Who can you trust, and who is the Big Bad Wolf? This re-telling of the Little Red Riding Hood story is a digital fairy tale that’s deliciously funny and full of dangerously dark twists.

Adapted for the stage by Michael James Ford and Stewart Roche, and starring Michael James Ford, Bairbre Ni Chaoimh and Kyle Hixon. Filmed in the magnificent setting of Roundwood House, Mountrath, Co. Laois.
London, 1903. Stephen Elliot is rapidly descending into madness and opium addiction. In an attempt to arrest his decline, psychiatrist DoctorOlsen utilises hypnosis to delve deep into the young man’s suppressed memories. What is revealed is a terrifying episode from Stephen’s childhood, when, as a traumatised orphan, he was sent to live with his reclusive Uncle at the remote Aswarby Hall.
