Drogheda woman on a mission for Rape Crisis Centre

Accomplished singer songwriter Kelley McArdle is a young Drogheda woman on a mission and she’s not the type to quit before she can say “mission accomplished.” 

Last time we spoke to Kelley she was busy preparing for the release of a new single in aid of the Rape Crisis Centre. That was about six weeks ago and, in the meantime, her single called “Shine a Light”, was released on February 22. 

Recording and releasing the single is just the start of this journey though, Kelley has been a busy bee ever since promoting it on radio and in press interviews and running several fundraisers simultaneously. 

“I’m delighted that I have reached over 1,000 Streams in only 4 weeks” Kelley told Drogheda Life. “I have had a lot of people kindly volunteer to hold lotto bonus numbers for me which was donated straight to my GoFundMe account for the charity.  

Kelley’s Go Fund Me total is currently heading for €7,000 but her aim is to hit €20,000 and then split the proceeds between the Rape Crisis North East and the Dublin Rape Crisis Centre.

On 23rd March Kelley launched a Monster Raffle for which businesses all across the north-east have donated prizes, money or vouchers. 

The top prize of a 50″ Samsung HD smart TV, Series 6 Apple Watch and Apple Airpods was kindly sponsored by G&C Developments which was.  To enter all you need to do is:

  1. Donate a minimum of €10 to the GoFundMe appeal 

    2. Follow Kelley on either Facebook or Instagram, (so she can tag you if you’re the winner!)

  1. Tag friends and share (the more people who see it the more the charity benefits)

She is also holding a fundraiser called “10,000 steps a day for Rape Crisis Centre” All you need to do for this one is donate a minimum €5 on GoFundMe , take a screenshot of your step count on your phone and tag Kelley in your social media post.
