Drogheda Lions Club sharing the Christmas joy

Drogheda Lions Club members are pleased to report that their Annual Christmas Food Appeal, which was online this year due to COVID, was well received and supported by the Drogheda Community.

Being online meant that the appeal was seen by a wider audience and expat Droghedeans living around the world and donations were received from Dublin, Cork, Scotland and Canada.

This year a large share of the money raised has been used to purchase LoveDrogheda Gift Cards from and distribution of these is already underway.

The focus is, as always, to provide support to those in greatest need as they go about their Christmas Shop this week. The motto of Lions Clubs International is “We Serve” and Drogheda Lions echo this as they provide support, especially at Christmas.

On Monday and Tuesday this week, Drogheda Lions will complete their purchase of Gift Vouchers and, working together with Vincent de Paul Drogheda , and Laytown Mornington Star of the Sea Conference, will deliver more support to the local community, once again in time for the shopping this week.

“Drogheda Lions extend their sincerest thanks for the wonderful support received” said former Club President and organiser of the appeal, Donal Browning.

“It’s not too late if you want to Donate – just CLICK HERE. We wish you a very Happy Christmas!”
