Drogheda Homeless Aid plans major fundraising concert at The Barbican

A great line-up is promised for the big fundraising concert being planned for April by Drogheda Homeless Aid. The concert in The Barbican on Saturday 25 th April at 3pm is the biggest fundraising event tackled by the organisation so far this year and the Dha team is hoping to fill every seat in the 300-seater theatre.

The concert is being led off by Drogheda Brass Band, whose members promised to fulfil the booking voluntarily even though it’s a busy time of the year for their players. Dha very much appreciates their gesture. The brass band will be followed by members of Drogheda Pantomime Society, who have no doubt some great sketches up their sleeves.

Famous composer Michael Holohan and his son Breifne are well known to Drogheda audiences and are ready to charm the boots of Dha’s supporters. Drogheda Comhaltas dancers will be on stage just after Michael and Breifne and Slane Men’s Shed Choir have also offered to support the fundraiser.

Award-winning soprano Cliodhna Regan is from Dunshaughlin. It’s not so long since she completed her undergraduate degree in Music Performance in TU Dublin Conservatoire. She is a muti-prizewinner at Feis Ceoil and was recently awarded a bursary at the Derry Feis and first prizewinner in the Soprano Solo at last year’s Feis Ceoil.

Last but not least in the line-up is Pale Blue Moon Band with 6,700 followers on Facebook. They will be remembered for their debut album, The Pleasure of Funding Things out.

Drogheda Homeless Aid CEO Mandie Walsh and chairperson Paul Murphy urge all those who support our efforts to care for people experiencing homelessness to come out in force to a great afternoon’s concert.

Tickets can be purchased from Eventbrite (details on Dha website).
