Drogheda Cycling Group to hold public meeting

The Drogheda Cycling group will be hosting a public meeting on June 27th at 7.30 PM in the Barbican Centre, all are welcome.

The agenda will include a report from the newly elected Mayor of Drogheda, Councillor Michelle Hall on her experiences cycling in the Netherlands.

The meeting will draw up proposals to be forwarded to Louth County Council in terms of making the junctions in Drogheda more cyclist friendly. The meeting will also elect officers for the year ahead.

The group Chairperson, Noel Hogan, said:

“This is an opportunity for members of the public to get involved in our work to change Drogheda for the better.

“We have an alternative vision for our town that does not involve traffic gridlock morning and evening and this meeting gives us the opportunity to demonstrate that”.

The group is also proposing to have community cycles over the summer on Sunday 19th June, Sunday 10th July, Thursday 14th July (evening ride) and Sunday 24th July. See the Drogheda Cycling Group Facebook page for more details.
