Drogheda Cares at Christmas Concert postponed

The Drogheda Cares at Christmas Concert which had been scheduled to take place in the Augustinian Church in Shop Street on the night of Thursday January 5 has been postponed until later in the month.

In a statement issued to Drogheda Life the concert organisers, Phil Conyngham and Michael Holohan said:

“We wish to inform all our loyal supporters and concertgoers, due to widespread illness and unforeseen circumstances, our upcoming Drogheda Cares at Christmas Concert ‘The Fleadh Once More’ scheduled for Thursday 5th January at 8pm in the Augustinian Church, Shop St. has been POSTPONED until later in the month.

“We hope people will rally to such a good cause once more.

“Thank you all for your interest and A Happy New Year.

“Watch this space!”

In their previous notice for the concert, which they described as “unmissable”, the pair said the concert will include a star studded line up of local musical talent including  Roisín Ward Morrow, Kevin Matthews and SJ McArdle and music by Michael Holohan and The Drogheda Orchestral Players. 

Proceeds from the concert will be divided between The Drogheda Women’s & Children’s Refuge Centre and The Augustinian Kenya Project. Admission is €10 with family tickets available for €25.
