Drogheda Arts Festival got off to a great start last night with the return of, live and in person, with Spoken Word and Theatre events taking place in The Living Room at Sarsfields and Droichead Arts Centre.
In Sarches, Fran Cassidy, Dagogo Hart and Dani Gill kept their audience intrigued and amused with tales of hometowns, rage, love and van-life while
Meanwhile Quintessence performed the world premiere of Behind Locked Doors, a powerful new show exploring the shadow pandemics of Ireland’s lockdown: domestic violence and parental alienation.
Tonight Friday 29th April sees two more shows of Behind Locked Doors at 12noon and 8pm in the Arts Centre.Also tonight, the Highlanes Gallery will open at 7.30pm for a special exhibition launch of Helena Gorey’s Understory.
There’s a special treat also at Gerrards Church in Mary Street, where Rónán Ó Snodaigh and Myles O’Reilly perform a sell-out show featuring their album ‘Tá Go Maith’ live.
