The Drogheda and Districts Men’s Shed are throwing open their doors to the public on Sunday next August 28th when they are having an Open Day between 11.00am and 3.00pm and they are hoping that potential new members will drop in for a chat and a look around.
Over the last two years Mullachrone, out on the Donore Road, has been home to the Drogheda and Districts Men’s Shed.
The Shed is kitted out with a number of workshops facilitating the members to improve their skills and indeed in many cases to develop skills in wood work and our garden benches and plant boxes as well as items made from wood turning are to be found in many homes in the community.
Similarly there is a computer room/ library an art room and even a gym and of course the important room is where the men can sit, chat and play pool.
Outside in the generous space are polytunnels, vegetable patches and flowers where the members can provide food and some floral beauty.
The Men’s Shed is a great facility encouraging a wide range of interests and also there is always the cuppa and the chat.
At the moment the Shed is looking for new members and hopefully the Open Day on Sunday will encourage more men from Drogheda and locality to join.
