Gardaí were alerted to the detonation of a suspicious device outside a residence in Cuirt na hAbhann, Ardee, Co Louth, at approximately 2:45am this morning Tuesday, 22nd October, 2024.
Nobody was injured in the blast but the front porch and door of the house were damaged.
The property was evacuated and the services of the Irish Defence Forces Explosive Ordnance Disposal were requested, who examined a suspected pipe bomb device.
A technical examination of the scene has since been conducted.
