The 2025 Ardee Municipal District Civic Awards were held on Monday 8 January at Ardee Parish Centre, celebrating the people and groups whose dedication and achievements have made a lasting impact on communities across Ardee and Mid-Louth.
Nine award recipients were selected following a detailed nomination and review process by the district’s six elected members. The annual awards recognise those who have reached significant goals, shown exceptional community service or represented their area on a national or international stage.
The ceremony began with a parade of the National Flag, and the flags of County Louth and Ardee Municipal District, carried by firefighters Uli Keller, Stephen Grey and Dita Durse from Louth County Council Fire and Rescue Service. Cathaoirleach Cllr Dolores Minogue and Louth County Council Chief Executive David Conway addressed attendees before the presentation of awards.
Speaking after the ceremony, Cllr Minogue said the event highlighted the outstanding dedication shown across the district.
“Today, we honour individuals and groups whose work has left a meaningful mark on their communities. Their achievements reflect the pride and spirit that make this area so special.”
David Conway said the awards were an important recognition of community leadership.
“The Civic Awards showcase the extraordinary efforts of people who give their time selflessly for others. Their commitment reflects our core value of being citizen-centred, and we thank them for the positive impact they continue to make.”
