Deputy Mayor of Drogheda Kevin Callan has said that a new road sweeper machine that has been secured specifically for Drogheda will be a fantastic boost to efforts to keep the town clean.
“This machine which is a drivable unit and which was built in County Louth will give a tremendous boost to the work of the Council and many voluntary groups to keep on top of illegal dumping and littering in and around Drogheda” Cllr. Callan said.
“The sweeper will further increase capacity to sweep estates around the town as well the main roads.
“I was delighted to see the new machines, one of which has been secured for Drogheda, at County Hall this week with the engines running and raring to get going.
“Every step we make to adding to our resources is a positive and this brand new purpose built machine will help across the streets, lanes, alleys and estates of our town for the coming decades.”
