After two years of pandemic programming, the Boyne Music Festival is back for three days of music and fun events for all the family in Townley Hall, the Highlanes Gallery and St. Peter’s Church of Ireland from July 29 to 31.
This, the ninth Boyne Music Festival, will explore the themes of “Beauty, Love and Justice” with a weekend packed with concerts, workshops, tours and talks designed to inspire, move and connect.
Concerts include works by Mozart, Schumann and Barber as well as a world premiere song cycle by Rhona Clarke, Deirdre Gribbin and Deirdre McKay and music by many other exciting contemporary composers.
There are programmes for the whole family and, of special interest to children will be a playful musical workshop on the theme of Beauty and the Beast led by BMF clarinettist extraordinaire, Jessie Grimes, who will conjure up a magical sound world.
Jessie’s workshops are inclusive and always participant centred. At 12:15pm, family and friends are invited to join for a performance of the children’s newly created work. Suitable for children aged 6-12 years.
