Basement Sessions shines a spotlight on Drogheda’s budding musical talent

Basement Sessions’ October Gig at Boomerang Cafe shone the spotlight on Drogheda’s young musical talents and treated audiences to a fantastic Gig at the Fair Street club.

The evening is a monthly showcase of young musicians who have honed their skills in the Basement Sessions’ dedicated music studio.

It is more than just a space; it’s a platform for young talents to work on their craft and develop their performance skills, providing essential resources such as practice spaces, sound recording facilities, and a wide array of musical instruments, it is a place where young musicians can rehearse and be creativity with the support of our instructors.

The October Gig was a great example of the vibrant musical community fostered by The Basement Sessions. The night featured a line-up of incredibly talented musicians who delivered brilliant performances to a delighted audience.

The lineup included Ally Brett, Shannon Dyas, Olivia Harty, Alex Taktikos, Rian & Jemma, Clo & Kane, Hannah Murphy, Daria McKenna, Aaron Henderson, and the comedic talents of Tadhg Murphy.

The eclectic mix of performances ranged from soulful acoustic renditions to original works and covers, providing a diverse musical experience enjoyed by everyone in attendance.

Sean McCluskey of Basement Sessions, expressed his excitement about the event:

The Basement Sessions’ instructors were on hand to provide guidance and support to the performers throughout the event, ensuring that they had the opportunity to shine on stage, organising the lights, sound mixing desk, microphones, and all the sound equipment for the event. Two students from the DIFE music production course, were involved in setting up necessary equipment.

The event was open to the youth of Drogheda, and attendees were treated to a lively atmosphere, refreshments, and a night of music that entertained.

The Basement Sessions at Boomerang Cafe thank the Drogheda community, local businesses, and their dedicated team for their invaluable support.

These monthly gigs are vital in providing a platform for young musicians to showcase their talents and share their love for music.
