Post office services transferred from Pat’s Centra to Laytown Post Office
An Post has confirmed to local TD Ged Nash that they are working to secure a building in Bettystown to provide a full post office service in the wake of Sunday night’s fire at Pat’s Centra.
He said;
“The fire at Pat’s and at Macari’s is a devastating blow. Our thoughts are with the owners and all the staff who are affected. Let’s hope that these businesses that form the heart of the community in Bettystown can be rebuilt and reopened as quickly as possible.
“I contacted An Post on Sunday and they confirmed that they will move customer’s social welfare payments and so on from 12 noon today Tuesday to the nearby office at Laytown.
“I know that notices to this effect have been displayed locally as well as on social media channels by the Postmaster.
“An Post has also confirmed to me that the Postmaster is also working to identify and secure a building locally and that An Post at a central level will be working to restore the Bettystown service as soon as they can.”
