A record 562 new social homes were built in County Louth last year.

The houses and apartments have been handed over to families and individuals, many of whom had been on the housing list and living in rented accommodation.

The figures were welcomed by Louth Fine Gael TD Paula Butterly who said they show that more high quality, secure homes are being delivered for the county.

She said: “I’m delighted to see that 562 new build social homes were delivered for Louth in 2025.

Behind these figures are the people, individuals, couples and families, who will now own their own homes.

Increasing housing supply is a core priority for Fine Gael in government and today’s announcement shows how progress is already being made.

Across the country there were over 9,000 new-build social homes delivered in 2025 which is the highest level of delivery on record.

The evidence of our commitment to housing is made clear in these figures and represents a new start and a bright future for those individuals, couples, and families who will live in them.

We must continue to build on this progress and keep delivering more homes for Louth.
