Rose of Tralee Spotlight: Meath Rose Ella Bannon to Shine on RTE Tonight

All eyes will be on the Rose of Tralee on RTE over the next two nights as the Meath Rose  Ella Bannon carries the flag for the north-east.

The 20 year old is a nursing student at DCU and lives in Trim.

She beat 13 other worthy contestants to win the Royal County Rose title last February after a glittering evening at the Knightsbridge Hotel, Trim.

Ella is a brilliant Irish dancer and she will be hoping to show her great skills to Daithi O’Shea and the nation live on TV.

She says her inspiration in life is her mother who has a deep passion in caring for others.

Ella hopes to go and specialise in oncology or haematology when she finishes her initial training as a nurse.

The Meath Rose has been dancing since she was four years old and finished an incredible seventh place at the Word Irish Dancing Championships in 2021 before retiring to concentrate on her studies.

Ella is a 25/1 outsider to win the competition.

You can watch the Rose of Tralee on RTE 1 tonight ( Monday) and tomorrow night, Tuesday, from 8pm and it will also be available on the RTE Player.

As usual, down to earth Kerryman Daithi will present the show with Kathryn Thomas.
