Boyne AC athletes represent their schools at Lauralynn Charity Relay Race

The Laura Lynn Charity Relay Race was held last Thursday in Swords,Co.Dublin and several secondary schools participated. Six Boyne AC athletes were there to represent their schools. And they did so in fine style.

The young Sean Alhaddad was first up to represent his school as a member of the minors team, as always, Sean gave it his all and ran a terrific 600m and was just pipped for a medal position. But he enjoyed every moment.

Next up in the junior section was Seamus Keenan and Naoise McAvinia, both of whom are cross country specialists. With 600 metres each to run they both pushed hard to become the runaway winners and very deservedly took home the gold medals.

The intermediate team was a powerful team. The talented Oliver Carolan and the formidable Jack Garvey proved to be invincible.

Oliver is a former Leinster shot putt and Javelin champion as well as an All Ireland medalist, while Jack is the rising star of Boyne Ac and seldom leaves a competition without a medal.

The powerful pair provided the team with a huge lead, winning the race comfortably and securing the Team Gold in an amazing manner.

A Great result for a worthy charity. Next Sunday sees a huge contingent of Boyne ac athletes heading to the Leinster Indoor Championships.
