New single and award make it a busy time for Drogheda’s country star Eimear Furlong

Local country music star Eimear Furlong has been presented with yet another award to add to her extensive collection and has also released a new single.

At the Hot Country TV award show held in The Mount Errigal Hotel in Letterkenny, County Donegal, the Drogheda based singer was presented with the Gene Stuart inspirational award.

Speaking after the awards, Eimear said she was “over the moon” with this latest achievement in her music career.

Eimear began singing professionally when she was just 10 years old and has performed in venues all over Ireland, the UK and America and has some great shows lined up for this year.

Eimear recently released her brand new single called “Don’t come crying to me” which was originally recorded by Vince Gill. She fell in love with the song and wanted to make her own version of it.

She explained that the recording studio was definitely her happiest place to be as she’s recording songs that mean something and likes to put her own twist on them.
