It’s been over a decade since local and international singer/songwriter, spiritual director, and retreat facilitator, Carmel Boyle, has performed in Drogheda but, on May 19th at 4 p.m., at a concert in the MMM Auditorium, Hardman’s Gardens, she will launch three new albums.
At the launch, Carmel will perform a selection from her new three-volume recordings, ‘Songs for the Everyday Mystic’ and anyone interested in attending this exclusive event is invited. While the event is free, booking is essential.
Carmel’s singing career expands over decades and her songs are inspired by her own spiritual journey, her Irish spiritual heritage and the writing of Christian mystics.
She enjoyed a career as an Irish ballad singer but gradually switched her focus to performing her original contemporary sacred songs. She has performed internationally for royalty and presidents, and now she enjoys performing her own songs and leading retreats based on those songs.
This new selection of songs is the result of having more reflective and creative space due to not traveling internationally as before. Readying to return to the United States again next month there are many new songs to share.
This this will be a very special occasion for those who have cherished her music over the years, especially those who attended her regular performances at the Droicehead Arts Centre and the heartfelt renditions at the Augustinian church, where she first began singing songs of a spiritual nature that later became her focus as a singer-songwriter, have left a lasting impact.
This event is a unique opportunity to experience her heartwarming and soul-stirring music live. Her songs are evocative and melodically beautiful, and her voice is authentic and pure. An energy flows when she sings, bringing a sense of peace and healing.
Carmel, who now lives in Monasterboice, where she is co-founder of An Croí Wisdom Institute, has composed over a hundred songs and recorded more than a dozen spiritually oriented albums.
