East Meath Fianna Fáil Councillor, Stephen McKee, is demanding that Irish Water take immediate action to deal with the worrying increase in water outages affecting East Meath, in particular the Duleek, Donore and Julianstown areas.
“The recurring water outages across East Meath have become a serious and worrying burden on local residents and businesses particularly over the last number of months” McKee stated.
“Reliable access to water is a basic necessity for everyone and the ongoing issues are causing considerable frustration and concern amongst local people. It is particularly hard on businesses which are being affected on a weekly basis at this stage.
“I raised the matter at this week’s Council meeting and have asked the Council to seek assurances that solutions will be found as a matter of urgency. With the support of my colleagues, Meath County Council have agreed to contact Irish Water to ascertain what measures and steps they will take to prevent future disruption.
“I will continue to highlight this matter so that appropriate action is taken to ensure a safe and reliable water supply for East Meath residents” concluded McKee.
