Post-Bank Holiday Pressure: 14 Patients Waiting on Trolleys at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital

Fourteen people are waiting for beds in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital after the bank holiday weekend

They are being treated on trolleys in the emergency department.

The figures were released by the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation Trolley Watch team.

There are currently 428 admitted patients waiting for beds in hospitals across the country this morning.

The INMO said 277 patients are waiting in the emergency departments while 151 are in wards elsewhere in the hospitals.

There is a surge in patients waiting for beds every bank holiday weekend because of a lack of medical staff on duty over the three weekend days.
