After a successful summer of provincial, national and International racing for many of the older age group athletes at Ace AC, the past few weeks has seen a welcome change, with a lot of the younger athletes taking part in both the local Boyne AC & Ardee AC sports days.
There were many great performances over the two weekends with up-and-coming star Cathryn Cummings winning the u9 300m at the Boyne AC day at the Lourdes stadium in Drogheda.
Caoimhe Carolan again showed her raw potential with a couple of medals in both the u12 sprint and middle-distance races.
Jamie O’Reilly, Chloe & Daniel Hanley, Ciara O’Connor, and Eoin XX also picked up medals. Other good performers on the day were Farrah Smith, Hannah & Sophie Black, & Adam Cummings.
All rounder Ollie Marron was one of the Ace AC stars in Ardee when he secured a brilliant bronze in the long jump. Also in Ardee, Under 10 newcomer Saibh Jordan showed great potential in a few different events alongside fellow u10 Muireann Chammas.
Caoinhe Carolan again picked up a few u12 medals with u14 Chloe Brennan winning a silver medal in the 100m. U17 Chloe Hanley continued her good form with another sprint medal while Daniel Hanley won the u16 800m. Alphie Marron also performed well. Various Ace AC athletes won relay medals too to cap off a great few days.
