Tina Turner and many more stars of the 80’s are set to return to McHugh’s Venue for a night of fun and Lipsync in November to raise funds for the Drogheda Women’s and Children’s Refuge and the organisers are asking local businesses to get on board as sponsors.
Last year’s show raised an amazing €8,500 for the refuge which has been providing support and assistance to women and children experiencing domestic violence and homelessness for more than 25 years.
After the success of last year’s show, which raised an amazing sum of €8,500 for this life changing charity, they are back for 2024 and are hoping to exceed that total with another amazing show.
“Local businesses can show their support by entering a contestant, it could be a staff member or customer, whilst promoting their business or club they will take part in the show to raise funds and awareness for the Drogheda Women’s and Children’s Refuge” said Tina Turner impersonator Brian Howard Brian Howard who is organising the show.
“Thanks to the generosity of Alan Cooney and the crew in McHugh’s venue, they will join the line-up on Saturday 16 of November to perform in the “Simply the 80’s” lip sync.
“The response from the local community has been phenomenal again this year and already we have filled almost all slots for the show, but we have one last male act available” Brian said.

“Your nominee doesn’t have to be a world class singer, a tenor, an alto, just up for some fun, willing to give 100% on the night joining the line-up of rock legends from other local businesses.
“We will have a team of judges on the night to offer their feedback and after an audience vote there will be one lucky winner, who will represent your business or club as the winner of the “Simply the 80’s” Lip Sync champion 2024.”
