President Catherine Connolly and her husband, Brian McEnery, visited Development Perspectives at its offices on the banks of the River Boyne in Drogheda this week.
The visit gave the organisation an opportunity to showcase its work at local, national and international level, with a focus on development education, community engagement and positive social change.
A number of local people and organisations attended the gathering, including Mayor of Drogheda Cllr Declan Power, members of Drogheda Vacancy and Dereliction and representatives of the Social Enterprise and Circular Economy Hub.
Development Perspectives staff and board members were also in attendance.

Celebrating 21 years of work
Bobby McCormack, CEO of Development Perspectives, said the visit was an opportunity to recognise the communities and organisations involved in its work.
It was a privilege to welcome President Connolly to Development Perspectives and share 21 years of work rooted in community, collaboration, and positive change, he said.
Our impact is made possible by the people and communities we work alongside, and it’s an honour to see their contribution recognised and celebrated.”
A special welcome was also extended to Peter Dolo, who attended as a guest representing Development Education Network Liberia.
Development Perspectives said his attendance reflected the international partnerships and connections that form part of the organisation’s work.
The organisation thanked President Connolly and Brian McEnery for their visit, as well as everyone who attended the gathering and continues to contribute to its work.
