Gardaí are appealing for witnesses after a man was seriously injured during an attempted robbery in Muirhevnamor, Dundalk, on Tuesday evening.
The incident happened at approximately 8.30pm on Tuesday, 6th October 2026.
A man in his 40s was approached by two males who attempted to take his e-scooter.
He received serious injuries and was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda, where he remains in a critical condition.
The scene has been preserved for a technical examination.
A man in his 30s was subsequently arrested and is being detained at a Garda station in the North Western Region under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
Appeal for witnesses and footage
Gardaí are asking anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward.
Anyone who was in the Muirhevnamor area between 7pm and 9pm on Tuesday, 6th October and who may have video footage, including dash-cam footage, is asked to make it available to investigating Gardaí.
