The Advanced Manufacturing Training Centre of Excellence in Dundalk will open its doors on Friday, 2nd October as part of this year’s Manufacturing Day Ireland.
Based at Xerox Technology Park, AMTCE will give visitors an opportunity to see some of the technology and training shaping the future of manufacturing, including robotics, automation, smart factory systems and cyber security.
Manufacturing Day Ireland is a national Ibec initiative now in its second year, with companies and training centres around the country inviting students, educators, jobseekers and local communities to get a closer look at modern manufacturing.
Industry 4.0 in action
AMTCE specialises in training for advanced manufacturing and Industry 4.0, helping people to upskill or reskill in areas linked to automation, digitalisation and emerging technologies.
Visitors attending the Manufacturing Day event will be able to tour a range of specialist training facilities, including:
- Robot and Cobot rooms
- Smart Factory
- Cyber Security Operations Centre
- Robotic Welding facilities

National focus on manufacturing careers
Ibec says Manufacturing Day Ireland is intended to challenge outdated perceptions of the sector and highlight the range of highly skilled careers available across manufacturing.
The campaign includes site tours, interactive demonstrations, career talks and opportunities to hear directly from people working across the sector.
AMTCE itself provides a range of training and traineeship opportunities in areas including robotics, automation, industrial systems, manufacturing technology and digital transformation.
