Drogheda Wellness Festival to bring mind, body and soul together this September

A new wellness festival is coming to Drogheda this September, bringing together local practitioners, businesses and experts for a day focused on mental, physical and emotional wellbeing.

The Drogheda Wellness Festival will take place on Saturday 5th September at The Marcy Hotel on West Street, with a mix of talks, panel discussions, taster classes and a wellness marketplace designed to make wellbeing accessible to everyone.

The festival is built around three core themes: mind, body and soul.

Organisers say the aim is to create a space where people can explore different approaches to wellbeing, whether they are already involved in wellness or are simply curious about where to begin.

Visitors will be able to move between three main areas during their chosen session.

The Wellness Marketplace will feature local businesses and practitioners, giving attendees the chance to learn more about different services, ask questions and explore products, demonstrations and selected festival offers.

The Taster Class Room will host a programme of 30-minute sessions including Exercise for Longevity with Terry Roy of Compass Coaching, Pilates with Nadine O’Connor of House of Pilates, Yoga with Laura Armada-Buch of LABFitness and a Sound Bath with Marta Jedlińska of Reiki & Sound Healing Ireland.

Places in the taster classes will be allocated on a first come, first served basis and will depend on room capacity.

The Speaker Room will feature expert talks and panel discussions on different aspects of wellbeing.

Karen Doherty Cooke is confirmed as keynote speaker and will deliver a talk titled What Really Is Resilience?

Confirmed panellists include Elaine Keogh of Prep, Cut & Tone, Jurgita Pakste of Sensory Space, wellbeing coach Mark Carolan and Naoimh Goodwin-Sloan of Haven Holistic & Beauty.

The festival will also include a range of local exhibitors, among them Haven Holistic & Beauty, Force One Therapy, Barefoot, Reform Lab, Peter Street Pharmacy, Carol Brennan of Nourishing Heart Mindfulness, Wellness at the Coach House, Luma, Workplace Resilience and Burnout Prevention, Alicia McKevitt and Sensory Space.

Visitors will also be able to discover experiences including red-light therapy through Luma, as well as ceremonial cacao with Carol Brennan of Nourishing Heart Mindfulness.

The day will begin with an optional community run in collaboration with Cuppa Cardio.

Participants are invited to meet at The Marcy Hotel at 8.45am, with the run starting at 9am and finishing with coffee and cake before the festival programme gets underway.

The main festival will run in two identical sessions, from 11am to 1.30pm and from 2pm to 4.30pm.

A ticket provides access to one selected session and includes entry to the marketplace, talks and panel discussions, taster classes, demonstrations and selected samples and offers.

Early Bird tickets cost €22.42 including the Eventbrite booking fee, with limited numbers per session.

The event is open to adults aged 18 and over and is intended to suit both complete beginners and people who already have an interest in wellness.

Attendees planning to take part in classes are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing and bring water. Those hoping to join the Sound Bath should also bring a blanket and small pillow.

Parking is available nearby at Stockwell Lane car park, Drogheda Town Centre Shopping Centre and permitted on-street spaces around West Street.

Organisers say they hope visitors leave with a better understanding of the different ways they can support their wellbeing, as well as new connections and practical ideas they can take into everyday life.
