Dip in the Nip marks 15 years of fundraising for local cancer services

Dip in the Nip returns this September as the annual fundraiser celebrates its 15th anniversary supporting cancer patients and their families in the North East.

The event will take place on Sunday 13th September at a secret North Dublin beach, with funds raised going to NECRET, the North East Cancer Research & Education Trust.

For the past 15 years, hundreds of women have taken part in the event, helping NECRET support patients and families through the Oncology Unit at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda.

The anniversary event will once again bring women together to take the plunge while raising money for services that directly support people receiving cancer care locally.

Organisers say the event has grown into an important annual fundraiser for the charity, with both returning participants and first-time dippers taking part each year.

The location of the beach is kept secret in advance, with details provided to those taking part.

This year’s event will also give organisers an opportunity to look back on 15 years of fundraising and the many women who have supported the Dip since it began.

NECRET is encouraging people to help spread the word ahead of September’s event and support its continued work with cancer patients and families in the Drogheda area.
