Two Louth students have been honoured with prestigious All Ireland Scholarships, which will support them throughout their undergraduate studies.

Caitlin Dyas and Róisín Torris received their awards at a ceremony held on 4th April at the University Concert Hall in the University of Limerick.

The event was attended by scholarship sponsor JP McManus, guest of honour and double Olympic champion Kellie Harrington, Deputy Willie O’Dea TD, and Louise Watson from the Department for the Economy in Northern Ireland, along with families, friends and school representatives of the award recipients.

Speaking at the ceremony, JP McManus congratulated the students on their academic achievements, noting that more than 2,000 scholarships have been awarded across Ireland to date, with many recipients going on to graduate from university.

Kellie Harrington also praised the students, describing the awards as a special occasion for the winners, their families and their schools, and said they should be proud of their accomplishments.
