Drogheda Tidy Towns Call for Volunteers for Spring Equinox Clean Up

The Drogheda Tidy Towns committee are having a big clean up in the town to mark the Spring Equinox.

They are looking for volunteers to give them a hand on Sunday,March 22 next between 11 to 1pm.

The Committee says everyone is welcome and getting involved in Tidy Towns activities is a great way to help the local community and make new friends.

The meeting point for the great Spring clean up is St Dominics Park and there will be a special focus on tidying up much of the ramparts, the town’s wonderful riverside walk.

Parking space is limited at the moment around Dominic’s Park because of construction work and there is alternative car parking at the Abbey Car Park/ the courthouse beside Dominic’s Bridge.

Volunteers are urged to wear boots and bags, gloves and litter pickers will be provided for everyone.

The Drogheda Tidy Towns committee have been doing outstanding work around the town in recent years and the list of things to be done this Spring and Summer is long to have Drogheda looking its best.

Refreshments for all the volunteers will be provided after the clean up by Louth County Council.

The Mayor Michelle Hall urged people to get involved and said:” Every little action helps and is a great way to meet new people, see you there.”

The clocks will go forward at midnight, Saturday, March 21, marking the beginning of the Irish Summertime.
