Free Parking at Southgate Shopping Centre to End from April 1st

The days of free car parking at the Southgate Shopping Centre are over.

The management of the retail park has announced to retailers that customers are to be charged every time they park there from April 1 next, and this is not an April fool’s joke.

A new 1 euro tap and go parking system is being brought in and will apply to all day customer parking at the centre.

In a public notice issued on social media by OB Vape, it said: “We would like to let our customers know that paid parking will be introduced at Southgate Shopping Centre from 1st April, 2026.”

A 1 euro tap and go parking system will apply for all day customer parking at the centre.

This change is being implemented by Southgate Shopping Centre and will apply to the car park from the above date. If you are planning to visit the centre, please be aware of this update.

Some people had been parking their cars all day free at the centre while they got the bus to Dublin. This irritated existing customers when there was a shortage of spaces especially at the front of the centre during peak times.
