Applications Open for 23 New Cost Rental Homes in Drogheda

Clúid, Ireland’s leading Approved Housing Body, has opened applications for 79 new Cost Rental homes nationwide, including 23 homes in Tullybrook, Drogheda, Co Louth.

Applications for the Drogheda homes opened at 9am on Wednesday 14 January. The properties are located at Tullybrook Lane and include a mix of two and three bedroom apartments and duplexes, all of which are A rated and newly built.

The development includes 11 two bedroom apartments with a monthly rent of €1,292 and 12 three bedroom duplexes with a monthly rent of €1,508. Clúid said these rents represent savings of at least 25 per cent compared to similar homes on the open market. In addition to lower rents, residents will benefit from homes that are cheaper to run, along with secure, long term tenancies and professional management and maintenance.

Chief Executive Officer of Clúid, Averil Power, said the organisation is acutely aware of the challenges facing people trying to secure good value, stable accommodation in the private rental sector. She said Clúid is delighted to open applications for the high quality homes in Drogheda, noting that the reduced rents offer a valuable opportunity for individuals and families to secure long term housing in a modern development close to local amenities.

Ms Power said demand for the homes is expected to be high due to their quality, location and affordability. She urged interested applicants to familiarise themselves with the eligibility criteria and to submit their applications as soon as possible through the Clúid website. All documentation must be submitted online by 5pm on Wednesday 28 January in order to be included in the allocation lottery.

The homes form part of the wider Tullybrook community on the outskirts of Drogheda and are located a short distance from the town centre. Residents will have easy access to schools, shops and leisure facilities, with the M1 Retail Park within walking distance.

The development has been delivered through a partnership between Clúid and Louth County Council, with support from the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage, the Housing Agency and the Housing Finance Agency. The homes were developed by Curo Developments.

Alongside the Drogheda homes, Clúid has also opened applications for 56 Cost Rental homes at Oscar Traynor Woods in Coolock, Dublin 5.

Further information on eligibility and the application process is available at www.cluid.ie.

Visitors to the website can also register to receive notifications about upcoming Cost Rental homes in their area.

Clúid currently manages more than 900 Cost Rental homes across Dublin, Cork, Kildare, Kilkenny, Meath and Laois, with further developments planned for 2026.
