Tragedy in Louth as a Five People Die in Two-Vehicle Collision

Five people have died after a horror crash in County Louth.

The two vehicle collision occurred on the Ardee road, Dundalk shortly after 9pm on Saturday night.

The scene has been sealed off and a full Garda investigation is underway.

In a statement Gardai said the collision occurred on the L3168 in the townland of Gibbstown, Dundalk involving two vehicles and a number of fatalities have occurred.The Gardai said:”

Gardaí, the vehicles and bodies of the deceased all remain at the scene. Three other people have also been taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda.

“The L3168 remains closed between the N52 and the R171, which is preserved pending a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. Local traffic diversions are in place.”

They are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to contact them.
Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were traveling on the L3168, Ardee Road, Dundalk, Co. Louth between 8.30pm and 9.15pm on the night of Saturday 15th November, 2025 are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
