The great man himself Santa Claus will be arriving all the way from the North Pole for the event as the countdown to the festive season begins.
There will be balloon modelling, carol singing , and festive ballet performances in what promises to be a great evening for families and the children.
The organisers said:” This marks the official start of the Christmas season in Drogheda. We urge everyone to shop locally to support local businesses this Christmas.”
Three lucky children will be asked to help Santa to switch on the lights.
They will be picked from a local Christmas Colouring Competition in which all children in the locality are invited to take part.
There will be three categories – under 6, under 8 and under 12. Each entrant is asked to drop in their picture to the Drogheda Library.
You can collect the Christmas picture to be coloured from the Drogheda Credit Union, Love Drogheda BID office or Drogheda library. It can also be downloaded online at www.lovedrogheda.ie The winners will be contacted on Wednesday, November 19 next and will be with Santa on the big stage to switch on the lights.
