Crisis hit SOSAD Ireland issues urgent appeal for financial support

World Mental Health Day has passed, but the need for mental health support remains constant but SOSAD Ireland is facing a crisis, their services are a lifeline to many but they are now at a tipping point financially.

“In the last two years, demand for our free mental health services has skyrocketed by 48%” a SOSAD spokesperson said.

“Yet, as a volunteer-led organisation with no core government funding, we are confronting a devastating funding shortfall. Without immediate financial support, we may not be able to keep offering the life-saving help that so many desperately depend on.

Put simply, the need has doubled, but our resources have not.

This is an urgent call to action. We are asking our media partners, communities, and neighbours to spread the word:

€100 can provide four hours of free counselling for someone in crisis. Every donation matters. Your readers’ support could be the difference between life and death for someone waiting for help.

As we continue through Mental Health Awareness Month, we need your help to ensure we can keep our doors open to those who need us most. We are at a critical juncture, and time is running out.
