Easter rail service arrangements

Northern Commuter, Enterprise and Dart affected by maintenance works between Howth Junction and Malahide

Essential travel only under Level 5 arrangements 

Iarnród Éireann has said that a revised timetable will be in place this Easter weekend on all routes. 

Customers are reminded that under Level 5 arrangements:

  • Only essential travel is permitted
  • Face coverings are mandatory on rail services and in stations, unless a customer is medically exempt
  • 25% of on board capacity is available for use
  • Intercity travel must be booked in advance of travel
  • Alcohol is not permitted on any rail services, and catering services are suspended on board

Overhead line works, Howth Junction to Malahide, Sat 3rd to Mon 5th April

Due to overhead line works between Howth Junction and Malahide, customers are advised:

  • DART services are suspended between Howth Junction and Malahide. Rail tickets are valid on bus services to/from Clongriffin, Portmarnock and Malahide. 
  • DART services are operating between Howth/ Howth Junction and Bray/Greystones.
  • Dundalk/Drogheda to Dublin Commuter services will operate with bus transfers between Malahide and Dublin Connolly
  • Dublin to Belfast Enterprise services will operate with bus transfers between Dublin Connolly and Drogheda.

All other routes

For all other routes, customers should check times before travel for any Easter schedule alterations.  General arrangements are as follows:

Good Friday 2nd April – The current revised weekday service will operate. 

Saturday 3rd April – The current revised Saturday service will operate. 

Easter Sunday 4th April – The current revised Sunday service will operate, with some alterations on Intercity services. See Irishrail.ie for timetables. 

Easter Monday 5th April – DART and Dublin Commuter services will operate to a Sunday schedule, with Malahide DART and Northern Commuter services affected by works as detailed above. All other services will operate to a revised schedule: check Irishrail.ie for details
