Kelley raises €10k for Rape Crisis Centre with Shine a Light single

Last February Drogheda singer songwriter Kelley McArdle released a single called “Shine a Light” to raise funds for the Rape Crisis Centre and this week she was proud and delighted to present the charity with a cheque for just over €10,000.

Not only did Shine a Light sell like hot cakes, it also encouraged many of her friends to run their own fundraisers for the charity who Kelley says were a great help to her when she turned to them for help.

“They helped me through one of the worst times in my life” she said and added that meeting representatives of the charity, both from Dublin and the North East Branch, at the presentation in the D Hotel on Tuesday, was fantastic.

“It was such a lovely afternoon, and the first time I got to finally meet the reps from both centres that I was in contact with for the last eight months regarding my “Shine A Light” fundraiser.

“I am absolutely thrilled to have hit my target of €10,000” she added.

Not one to rest on her laurels however, Kelley told Drogheda Life that she has a new single coming out soon. It’s called “Beat That Face” and is due to be released to all music platforms, Spotify, iTunes, Apple Music, TikTok and others on 8th August 2021.

“It is sure to be a show not to be missed!” Kelley said.

“Beat That Face” is a song about makeup and getting ready for a night out. Kelley says It is part of an exciting collection of music she hopes to share with us soon.
