The Educational Skills Learning Opportunities ESLO) programme, an LMETB funded Local Training Initiative based in Boomerang Youth Centre and Café, Fair Street, Drogheda is currently recruiting for their upcoming programme starting September 2021.
The programme aims to support learners to re-engage with learning in a supportive and encouraging environment. Together with developing education and employment skills the programme also supports learners on their journey to personal growth.
Our expert staff will support each learner to gain skills in their chosen career, along with experience in the following areas:
- Communication Skills – Verbal and Written
- Confidence Building
- Resilience – identifying issues and finding solutions
- An understanding of their skills and abilities
- Teamwork – Working together and on own initiative
- Planning and Organising – designing and implementing elements of work
- Leadership – taking responsibility and assisting their peers
- Commitment – Understanding their role and commitment to work
- CV preparation, form filling and preparing for interviews
- Internal and External work placement opportunities
- Assistance in setting up interviews, job search supports
The programme on offer is a QQI Level 4 Award in General Learning and is aimed at young people aged 16-25 years and is delivered over ten months.
This General Learning course provides vocational training opportunities, learning supports and project-based learning to raise the skill levels of unemployed young people, developing their capacity to progress to further Education, Training, and Employment.
