A presentation has been made to three members of the Duleek/Bellewstown GFC Senior Ladies football team ahead of Sunday’s All-Ireland Final.
East Meath Councillor Stephen McKee, who is also Chairperson of the Ladies Section of Duleek/Bellewstown GFC, said;
“We are all so proud of the achievements of Kate and Orla Byrne and Monica McGuirk in reaching the Senior Ladies All-Ireland Final with the Meath team.
“It is a huge honour for the Club to have such significant representation on the Senior team and this is a testament to the girls and everyone involved in Duleek/Bellewstown who have helped them along the way.
“I must also highlight the fact that Club players Katie Lenehan and Katelyn McMahon are on the Meath Minor Ladies Team who have just won a Leinster Final so it’s all hugely positive for the Club.
“The number of girls playing Gaelic Football in Duleek/Bellewstown is huge and increasing and all of these girls are role models and an inspiration to all our younger players.
“They are a credit to their families and the Club. Everyone is so looking forward to the All-Ireland Final now on Sunday and seeing the girls perform at the highest level of Ladies football. We wish the girls and the team the very best of luck.”
