Drogheda Library is offering more and more services for people of all ages and will shortly launch a programme called ‘My Open Library’ which will provide additional hours with enhanced access for the community. It is free and access is available 365 days a year.
My Open Library gives greater flexibility & accessibility to the library service and is a very exciting development both for the community and Drogheda area.
Library members now have access to a new suite of PCs, during My Open Library and normal hours.
The My Open Library service, operational in Ardee Library since 2019, aims to improve access, use and visibility of the library as a community hub.
Members of this enhanced, fully automated, service will be able to access Drogheda Library on a self-service basis from 8am – 10pm; 7 days a week. These extended hours are perfectly suited to students, commuters, shift workers as well as anyone who wants to pop in for a new book at a time that suits them best.
During My Open Library hours members can:
- Borrow and return items
- Print by sending documents from home or from their mobile device
- Photocopy
- Use the internet
- Free Wi-Fi access
- Study space
- Book a meeting room
The service is available to adults 18+ and to 16 & 17 year olds with parental consent.
Anyone who is interested in hearing more about the digital spaces or My Open Library can contact Drogheda Library on 041 987 6162.
We look forward to introducing the community to these new and exciting developments.
