My Streets Ireland shortlisted for Coca Cola ‘Thank You Fund ‘award

Drogheda based project My Streets Ireland is one of 22 organisations nationwide to have been shortlisted for a Coca Cola ‘Thank You Fund ‘award.

My Streets is seeking funding for a programme which aims to connect young people through a collaborative community arts project.

Led by a team of artists and facilitators, participants will learn artistic and environmental repurposing skills, with their creative expressions displayed in the 2023 St. Patrick’s Day festival in Drogheda.

The project is being managed by Drogheda based Community Arts facilitator Rosaleen Dunne who has had extensive experience of similar projects nationally and internationally. According to Rosaleen if any artists or facilitators are interested in participating they are welcome to contact My Streets.

Director of My Streets Ireland Michael O’Dowd has said that to date in 2022, My Streets has completed three projects.

”Our Nature Therapy programme involved a number of nature-based activities which supported participants’ mental health and well-being and encouraged social connection and emotional expression.

We have worked with vulnerable young people and ran an eight-week Improv programme. Again, this was very successful and helped build confidence and resilience.

We have completed a self-defence programme for women concerned about the upsurge in violence against them – including recent incidents in Drogheda. This was in conjunction with the Drogheda Karate club and was free for participants.

We are also in the process of completing a photography programme targeting vulnerable youth.

On top of all that our Homeless Tours have also taken a number of bookings”
