The organiser of the Louth Plein Air Art Festival, Leonora Reilly, has teamed up with Ann Shortt to organise an Art Auction which willtake place in the D Hotel on Friday October 28 in aid of the Alzheimer Society’s Tredagh Lodge Day Care Centre.
Before the onset of Covid they received 17 art pieces from the Fingal Lighthouse Art Group but could not do anything with them until now.
“We wondered how to fundraise with them and decided an auction would be the best possibly” Leonora said.
“I then approached the artists who attended the Louth Plein Air Art Festival this year and within a couple of hours I had over 16 artists pledging their support by donating an art piece. Absolutely amazing!
“We have artists from Co Mayo, Meath, Dublin and of course Louth. Some are professional award winning artists – indeed one has appeared on the Sky Arts” Landscape Artist of the Year” TV show.
“We are extremely proud of each and every one of the artists who have been so very generous” Leonora added.
“Some have parents or family affected by Alzheimer’s or dementia and are more than happy to hear that all the money raised on the night will go straight to the Drogheda centre for use with the families and clients who attend every day.
The event will start with a drinks reception at 7.30 pm in the d Hotel followed by the auction itself at 8.00. MC for the night is Gerry Kelly of LMFM. Tickets are available now on Eventbrite
