Autism Support Louth&Meath is to receive €28,000 from the Allied Irish Bank’s Community €1 Million Fund.
The fund, which was launched earlier this year, will see over 70 local charities receive funding as part of the initiative with Autism Support Louth&Meath being chosen as one.
Having been nominated by AIB customers and other members of the public, Autism Support Louth&Meath will receive €28,000 from the fund in 2022 which will allow them to continue their youth club for Autistic children, teenagers and young adults.
Earlier this year, AIB launched the first €1 Million Community Fund and asked its customers and the wider public to nominate registered charities that connect with causes that matter most to them and their communities.
The charities which received the most nominations in each of the five regions (Connaught, Munster, Ulster (RoI), Leinster and Greater Dublin) received funding.
Jacinta Walsh from Autism Support Louth&Meath said: ” We are thrilled to be awarded this amount by AIB.
“It is being specifically targeted towards Personal Development, Therapeutic and Creative Arts activities over the next year with all our 6 weekly youth clubs making a real and genuine difference to the over 100 autistic young people who attend our clubs and activities.
“We were absolutely delighted to be awarded the funding and it means so much that it was our local community and supporters that nominated us for it.”
