Drogheda and District Chamber hosted a special business briefing recently for members of the student council at St Joseph’s Secondary School in The Mill recently.
As part of the Chamber’s community initiative programme, the students were given a tour of the facility that’s just a five-minute walk from their campus.
The Mill is a mixed business hub, with clients from around the world. It also includes a state-of-the-art media centre.
Chamber council member and former St Joseph’s student, Robert Murray, was delighted to welcome almost 40 students who spent 90 minutes learning all about the success of The Mill and those that work there.
Trevor Connolly from BIDs and Ronan Whitty from the Mill, with Steven Rice and Miriam Simon, as well as chamber president Hubert Murphy addressed the students and expressed a desire to see them return in the future with a business project of their own.
Bernard Sharkey from St Joseph’s said it was a very useful exercise for the students and they learned a lot from the experience.
“The role of the chamber is to let people know about the opportunities out there and encourage young people to learn about the business world of their town. The students were impeccable and a credit to their teachers,” President Hubert Murphy stated.
He thanked all those that helped make the tour a success, especially the team at The Mill, Drogheda’s glowing success story.
